Independent language certification

Know the language of the work — not just the language.

The job's own vocabulary — terminology, abbreviations, and register — taught SFW and tested with a focused assessment. One focused module, three lessons, and a 15-minute exam.

ChatterCert OF Chat Language is a short, independent certification covering the working vocabulary of professional chatting — platform and business terms, fan texting abbreviations, and reading what a fan wants in business terms. It is one module with three lessons and a 20-question exam, taught entirely safe-for-work.

Knowing English is not knowing the industry

A candidate can write perfect English and still stall on day one, because they do not know what a rebill, a custom, or a bundle is. Agencies read that gap as “no experience.”

This certification closes the gap. It is the “speaks the trade” signal agencies look for next to an English level — and native speakers need it just as much.

What you will be able to do

  • Use the platform and business glossary correctly — PPV, rebill, custom, bundle, tip menu, promo, and more.
  • Read fan texting register: common abbreviations, emoji meaning in context, and message-length conventions.
  • Translate a fan's message into business terms — a custom request, a discount probe, a cancellation signal.
  • Reply in the warm, texting-native register fan chat expects, instead of stiff customer-service English.

Curriculum: one module, three lessons

About 45 to 60 minutes of learning, then the exam.

Who it is for

  • New chatters who need the trade's vocabulary before their first shift.
  • Fluent or native English speakers breaking into chatting work.
  • English Proficiency holders completing the language pair agencies screen for.

Prerequisites

None. It pairs naturally with the English Proficiency assessment — one proves how well you write, the other proves you speak the trade.

Content scope

Everything in the course and exam is safe-for-work by hard rule. It teaches the business layer of the vocabulary — nothing explicit appears in lessons, questions, or the credential.

Frequently asked questions

What is OF chat language?
The working vocabulary of professional chatting: platform and business terminology, fan texting abbreviations, and the casual register of fan conversations. It is learnable knowledge — separate from English proficiency — and this certification teaches and tests it.
Is the course content explicit?
No, by hard rule. Everything operates at the business layer — customs, bundles, exclusives — and stays implication-clean. That is what keeps the credential shareable on a resume.
I already speak fluent English. Do I need this?
If you have not worked as a chatter, probably yes. This is the layer a fluent — even native — speaker can completely lack: what the trade's terms mean and what a fan is really asking for in business terms.
How is this different from the English Proficiency assessment?
English Proficiency measures ability and reports a CEFR-aligned level. OF Chat Language certifies knowledge: a short course with a pass/fail exam. Agencies filtering for experienced chatters look for both.
How long does OF Chat Language take?
About 45 to 60 minutes of lessons, plus a 15-minute exam. Most people finish it in one sitting.
What happens if I fail the exam?
Two attempts are included. After a second failed attempt there is a 7-day lockout, then paid retakes at $24.99. The module quiz allows unlimited retries.
Is OF Chat Language included in the membership?
Yes. One membership ($14.99/mo or $99/yr) covers OF Chat Language along with the other launch certifications, with live credential verification while active.
